The good news is that there will be training as usual on Saturday. Unfortunately, The Robinson Centre is closed Easter Sunday so there will be no class. Pls remember (while consuming huge amounts of chocolate) that Sensei Bell has indicated there is a grading session coming up soon and everyone is reminded of he importance of training at home, especially when regular classes are off. Happy Easter!

Easter training:
Sat, 30-Mar-2013: On
Sun, 31-Mar-2013: Off

Training on St. Patricks weekend

The Robinson Centre will not be open on Sunday, 17th March so there’ll be no be no Sunday training next weekend. Saturday’s class will take place as normal tho.

As there is currently a lot of renovation work going on, it’s not yet clear if classes the following weekend can take place yet. More info will be posted here as we get it.

UPDATE: The Robinson Centre is going to be open on Sunday after all, so the regular training class is back on. We’ve also been told that the building works should not affect next week too.

Kyu grading preparation

Club regulars will have noticed that recent training sessions have featured a lot more syllabus material drill for all karateka. Sensei Bell is planning to run a kyu grading session within the next few weeks and has suggested that any student hoping to attempt their next belt will need to continue to practice outside club and be familiar with their grading syllabus. Students are also reminded to check their WIKF license renewal dates.

22nd North vs South

The first competition of the new year will take place at the start of February – the 22nd annual North Vs South Open Championship. As the name implies, this event is open to all karateka from north and south of the border, regardless of club affiliation or style.  Like previous years, there will be categorised junior and senior competitive events for Kata, Kumite and team Kumite.

Venue: Belfast Institute
Date: Sat, 04-Feb-2013
Time: 09:00 to 18:00

As Sensei Bell will be attending, there will be no club training on that Saturday. Anyone wishing to take part, should let Sensei know ASAP for registration. Students not taking part are invited to come along as spectators and support this event.

Summer training break

Sensei Bell has announced that he’ll be away travelling for several weeks next month and so there’ll be no regular club training sessions in June. Sensei also reminded all Karateka that there is a training course and grading due to take place at the end of June in Ballywalter. More details for this will be published soon.

Last training session: Sun, 27-May
Classes resume: Sat, 07-July
